Junior IT Specialist

The Junior IT Specialist assists all company departments by ensuring that their computer software and hardware are functioning to perform their jobs. This role focuses on working on innovative solutions to help improve productivity and aid management with reporting and information.

 

Key-Systems

  • SMARTT shipping – CSS TMS for customers to manage their shipments, E-commerce Connections, Uploading Rates, Carrier and Customer Pricing Analysis.

  • MS Teams – CSS utilizes TEAMS for all of its communication channels.

  • KEERAN – provides IT services for hardware and software, use the Keeran ticketing portal.

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, OneDrive etc.) – Used to provide reports, communicate with staff and for updating information in Smartt.

  • NetSuite – ERP system for sales, financial, projects, Assets, CRM, reporting, etc.

  • Extensiv – WMS to manage warehouse customers inbounds and outbounds and tracking inventory located in the warehouse.

  • Jitterbit – Low code integration and automation software for processing invoices.

 

Job Duties

  • Resolve minor quick-fix issues relating to emails, the internet, and phones.

  • Utilize Keeran to resolve major issues and time-consuming tasks.

  • Assist and manage all company software.

  • Compile reports and data requested by the Carrier Relations, Customer Service, Billing, and Warehouse departments.

  • Utilize reporting to strengthen company knowledge to make strategic decisions.

  • Assist with pricing comparisons requested by sales.

  • Assist Carrier Relations with adding new lanes to Smartt Shipping and updating the system as needed.

  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of NetSuite and the billing teams’ Interactions with the system.

  • Assist customers with CSS software-related Issues. Provide training as needed.

  • Setup and configure various Integrations with customer platforms.

  • Bring new ideas or improvements to the Technology meetings.

  • Help maintain the Smartt notice board (backup for Customer Care supervisor)

  • Maintaining the users in the phone system.

  • Upload new rates from existing carriers into Smartt.

  • Maintain fuel surcharge rates in Smartt.

  • Set up new company computers and reset existing computers as required.

  • Assist in maintaining IT-related supplies for the office.

  • Supporting the Logistics team with Smartt-related questions and problems.

  • Database maintenance of CSS software.

  • Smartt Nearby Cities.

  • Smartt Accessorial charges.

  • Assist IT Specialist, IT Manager and & VP of Operations as required.

  • Learn to use Macros to assist with data management.

  • Scanning and updating electronic files ( one drive and Netsuite)
