Key Systems

SMARTT Shipping – The main platform on which our business operates. Account Managers are responsible for knowing the inside out and being able to demonstrate its use and features with ease to prospective clients.

NetSuite ERP system – CRM and CSM modules. All aspects of the Sales Cycle and Customer’s Journey are documented in-depth within NetSuite.

MS Teams – Internal company communication is primarily managed through MS Teams.

MS Excel – Primarily used for sales funnels and CRM.

David Niebach, MBA, CRM, FCPA, FCGA, President & CFO – As President and CFO, Dave is ultimately responsible for setting strategic direction and managing the financial affairs of the business. His primary goal is to develop and lead a high-performing executive leadership team. Dave oversees Finance & Accounting, Risk Management, Legal, HR and Treasury.

Celeste Cristello, Vice President – Celeste is intimately involved in the selection of CSS employees and their professional development.  As Vice President, Celeste aligns and empowers the organization while leading the implementation of operational strategies and objectives across all departments.

Robert Cochrane, Director of Operations – Robert is responsible for warehouse operations, building maintenance, and overall operations from negotiations, budgeting, purchasing, safety, process management and performance. 

Brendon Davis, Director of Pricing and IT – Brendon assesses the needs of the organization and manages Information Technology operations while maintaining control over pricing activities to maximize profit.

Mark Evans, Director of Carrier Relations – Mark manages Carrier Relations and actively pursues strategic partnership opportunities with carriers, while driving and identifying cost saving opportunities and coordinates across departments.

Sebastian Wilson, Director of Sales & Marketing – Sebastian is responsible for establishing and directing Sales & Marketing initiatives, devising strategies to expand client base, increase sales, achieve brand goals, and improve customer satisfaction.

Veronica Gaskarth, Customer Care Manager – Veronica leads and motivates the Customer Care team to manage the needs of our customers while providing exceptional customer experience.

Harvi Brar, Finance Manager – Harvi is responsible for all accounting-related activities, data analysis and the financial health of the organization while managing the Finance team.

Kristian Stiefel, Warehouse Lead – Kristian manages the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing duties of the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met and exceeded. 

 

Job Duties

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts (assigned or unassigned) by providing an exceptional customer care experience, maintaining good report and taking a vested interest in their business.
  • Facilitate the entire sales process from lead generation and product demonstration to the onboarding of customer accounts to claims, which involves making sure that the customer is provided with support in their transition to the Customer Care team for their day-to-day activities.
  • Build, implement and report on the status of a yearly plan broken into monthly targets based on a quota provided by Director of Sales & Marketing which includes following up on inactive accounts.
  • Develop innovative sales strategies for sourcing prospects and overall company growth measured by the amount of SMARTT shipping demonstrations completed and converted into customers.
  • Conduct market research to inform which niche markets will be the focus of sales initiatives each quarter, which will be responsible for building your pipeline.
  • Create and develop proposals that accurately reflect the services requested which includes content development, costing and research.
  • Build a pipeline for prospective clients which includes continuously cold calling, approaching warm leads, utilizing own network.
  • Qualify leads, track progress of account applications, and maintain data in company ERP software (NetSuite).
  • Handle difficult conversations which may involve assisting Accounts Receivable with the collection of overdue invoices or Customer Care with an unfavourable outcome.
  • Take responsibility and initiative for acquiring internal company knowledge (SMARTT Shipping, NetSuite, WMS), industry trends, world economics as well as personal growth and development (books, seminars, workshops).
  • Collaborate with our Claims department on lowering clients with high percentage of claims and our Marketing department on sales collateral.
  • Occasionally attend out of office and after-hours networking events, which may also include entertaining clients (dinners, fundraisers, hockey games, etc.)
  • Provide sales and administrative support through various office duties such as answering the phone, making calls to customers, managing calendars and scheduling site tours. Ad hoc responsibilities that you may be asked to perform outside of the listed job duties within reason.
  • As our business evolves and the industry changes, we must also adapt and may require alterations to the responsibilities that have been set forth in this job duties list. The new responsibilities would be reflected accordingly to ensure that the Account Manager can still meet the targets they have been set out to meet and exceed.
 

Meetings

  • Attend all specified sales meetings.
  • Weekly meeting with Sales Director for check- ins
  • Ad hoc meetings as required.

 

Reporting

  • Weekly general updates to Sales Director
  • Weekly scorecard reports to Sales Director
  • Quarterly Scorecard reports to Sales Director
  • Yearly Territory Goal setting and reporting to Sales Director and Executive team.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required.
